Getting the Most Out of Your DVD Player

Many people believe that we’re in an age of disposable electronics. That is to say, rather than being worth fixing any of our appliances, we simply throw them away and get a new one. But that isn’t always the case. Especially with something like a DVD player, the short lifespan might actually be a result of improper use on the user’s part. So if you want to make your DVD player last longer than a year or two, make sure that you’re always gentle with it. Especially important is that you don’t place anything too heavy on top of the player itself.
Also, don’t get lazy with your machine. If you’re done watching a DVD, take that disc out, and turn off the DVD player itself. Leaving it on will actually cause the laser and motor to keep working even if you’re not watching. Leaving it on all those unnecessary hours will drastically reduce the lifespan of your DVD player, because it’s using up its lifespan when no one is even watching! So make sure to use your DVD player with care and common sense, and you might just be surprised how long your newest DVD player lasts you.
