Before You Purchase a Digital Camera

There’s nothing like the convenience of a digital camera for capturing all those memories that you always want to remember. But if you’re a first time buyer, just be aware that there are a few things to keep in mind before you run out and purchase. For one, know that the interface of digital cameras is far different than the interface of a point and shoot film camera. It’s much more technologically inclined, so allow yourself some time to get used to all the new features, plugs, and cables.
Also, shop around and play with a lot of models before committing. Check out the image quality, the ease of holding the camera itself, the delay between taking pictures, and many other issues. All these little details can mean the difference between a camera you like and a camera you love. Particularly if you’re concerned with viewing the pictures right after capturing the moment, make sure the viewing screen is large enough and clear enough that you can get a good idea of what the picture looks like. This way, you’ll know every time whether you need to snap another shot or not.
